Planned PTO? Surprise Callouts? Just Plain Busy?
A highly skilled, experienced RVT who can jump into the action with minimal direction to support any team or department can mean the difference between burn-out and brilliance during chaotic shifts.
Now more than ever, veterinary hospitals of all sizes are looking to fill scheduling gaps by sourcing relief coverage from a variety of places. While this may offer a quick solution for one shift here and there, it’s impossible to predict what level of experience or competency that person may bring to a clinical setting. Are they new to the field? Have they worked in an emergency setting or specialty hospital before? Will they be “an extra pair of hands” on the floor or a skilled clinician to facilitate advanced care?
